The Department of History at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in Antebellum U.S. history, 1800-1850, to begin August 2016. Scholars with areas of specialization in any subfield of U.S. history are welcome to apply. The successful candidate will have a 2/2 teaching load, consisting of mostly upper-level courses and graduate seminars. The candidate will be expected to teach two upper-level courses, “Early Republic” and “Antebellum America,” as well as offer instruction in his or her area of specialization, and play a significant role in the graduate program (M.A. and Ph.D). A Ph.D. in History with area of specialization in any subfield of U.S. History is required by the time of appointment. The deadline for applications is November 2, 2015.
