The Curriculum in Peace, War, and Defense at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is recruiting applicants for a three-year fixed-term Lecturer of National Security and Intelligence beginning in the fall of 2016. The individual hired for this position will teach four undergraduate courses related to intelligence and national security per academic year (2/2). In addition, he or she will assist in managing relevant events and student activities associated with the Triangle Institute for Security Studies' Center for Academic Excellence in the study of intelligence (a federally funded grant program, see http://tissiccae.web.unc.edu/). This includes events at all four participating universities. Salary is set at $60,000. The Curriculum is a long-established undergraduate interdisciplinary major that continues to grow at a rapid rate. The successful candidate will demonstrate high quality, enthusiastic teaching and student advocacy and an ability to work cooperatively and productively with staff and students. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in hand by August 1, 2016 in International Relations, National Security Studies, Political Science, Military History or related discipline plus some experience in the US Federal Government or US Military, preferably in an intelligence-related field.
