The University of British Columbia is accepting applications for one 12-month lecturer position in Sanskrit language and literary culture, commencing July 1, 2016. The successful applicant will be asked to teach 12-18 credits of Sanskrit language courses at all levels, as well as up to 12 credits of undergraduate lecture courses on South Asian culture, religion, literature or film, depending on the applicant's area of expertise.
Applicants are expected to have expertise in Sanskrit, a Master’s degree in a relevant field, and experience teaching Sanskrit in North America at the college/university level; strong preference will be given for applicants with additional training in another language and literary tradition of the ‘Sanskrit Cosmopolis’. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
