The American Academy of Arts and Sciences, an international learned society founded in 1780 and located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, invites applications for its 2016-2017 scholar-in-residence program. The Academy seeks proposals from scholars who are completing manuscripts on American history, culture, and public policy from the founding period to the present. Untenured junior faculty and qualified postdoctoral scholars are invited to apply.
Visiting Scholars are based in Cambridge and have the opportunity to participate in seminars and other Academy events.

Terms of Award: Visiting scholars are expected to be in residence at the Academy throughout the academic year (mid-September-May). The stipend is $45,000 for postdoctoral scholars; $65,000 for junior faculty (not to exceed one half of salary).
