The Department of History and Geography invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in 20th century central or eastern European history with preferred specialization in Germany, beginning mid-August, 2016. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. by the time of appointment and will be able to offer courses on Nazi Germany, the Holocaust, the world wars, and in their area of specialization. In addition, applicants must be willing to teach in the university’s core curriculum http://www.elon.edu/e-web/academics/core_curriculum/. The department welcomes applications from candidates whose research and teaching have comparative dimensions, e.g., genocide studies, Jewish studies, women and gender studies, etc. Evidence of effective teaching and scholarly promise is required.
