The Department of History at Columbia University seeks to hire two distinguished scholars at the rank of tenure-track assistant professor in the field of American History to 1820 to begin 1 July 2016. The successful candidate(s) will be expected to offer graduate and undergraduate seminars, as well as broad survey classes on Colonial North America, the American Revolution, the Early Republic, and the like. In addition, the successful applicant(s) will show evidence of innovative scholarship and experience with teaching and advising, and have the Ph.D. in hand by July 1, 2016.
