The Macalester College Department of Environmental Studies invites applications for a one-year visiting position in environmental history and environmental policy to begin Fall 2015. PhD or advanced ABD required. Qualified candidates must demonstrate an interdisciplinary background at the intersection of environmental history and politics/policy. The successful candidate will be expected to teach five courses total, including one section of U.S. Environmental History, one section of Environmental Policy (with content spanning both US and global politics), and three additional topics courses. Geographical focus and field of specialization are open.
The Environmental Studies Department emphasizes an interdisciplinary approach to the study of environmental issues. We seek applicants who are committed to excellence in teaching and research in an interdisciplinary, liberal arts setting. We are especially interested in candidates committed to advancing the College's mission of educational excellence with a special emphasis on multiculturalism, internationalism, and civic engagement.
