The Department of History at the College of the Holy Cross invites applications for a visiting full-time faculty position in East Asian history for the 2015-2016 academic year to begin in August. The successful candidate will join a departmental community of twenty historians whose research and teaching straddle the globe, as well as a vibrant interdisciplinary community in Asian Studies. Visiting full-time faculty teach 3 courses each semester (six total, but some courses may be duplicated), including (for this position) an introductory course, “Perspectives on Modern Asia,” in the fall. Specialization is open, but the ability to teach courses on both China and Japan is desirable. Applicants should have Ph.D. in hand or be nearing completion of the dissertation, with teaching experience.
