Bard College invites applications for a part or full-time replacement position as Visiting Assistant Professor of Religion in the area of Buddhist Studies for the 2015-2016 academic year. The position requires a strong commitment to teaching and scholarship in a liberal arts setting. Applicants should possess a foundation in formative or classical traditions and literatures of Buddhism, and an understanding of later and contemporary developments within Buddhist traditions. The geographical area of specialization is open. The successful candidate will also participate within the Asian Studies program. Ph.D. or near completion is preferred, and teaching experience is highly desirable.
