Job description
Applications are invited for 1 postdoc researcher (0.8 fte), who will have no teaching responsibilities and who will work on the federally-funded project ‘No More Heroes: Violence and Resistance in New World Poetry’. Eligible candidates have a PhD in Spanish-American literature or history and are expert readers of classical Nahuatl. For the duration of 1 year, the successful candidate will work on indigenous sources from (shortly before) the Spanish conquest.
Qualifications
- a PhD in Spanish-American literature or history
- expert reader of classical Nahuatl
- experience with archival research, translation, and digital humanities is preferred but not expressly required
- ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Conditions of employment
The University of Groningen offers the postdoc a salary of min. € 2,855 (salary scale 10 Dutch Universities) to max. € 3,324 gross per month (based on fulltime employment). The postdoc will be based at the Department of English Language and Culture.
