The Department of History at The University of North Carolina at Pembroke invites applications for Assistant Professor in Social Studies Education/History. Successful candidate will manage the undergraduate and graduate Social Studies Education programs which are housed in the History Department. The position will require teaching of undergraduate and graduate courses in Social Studies Education, supervision of licensure candidates, administrative duties associated with these programs, as well as occasional teaching of either upper-division or survey history courses, depending on qualifications.
Rank and Salary are Commensurate upon Education and Experience.
Either a Ph. D. in History or Ed.D. in Social Studies Education, and a minimum of eighteen graduate hours in History. Applicants should be eligible for North Carolina teacher licensure.
Please identify any history courses, preferably in non-Western fields, you would be prepared to teach.
