The Augustine and Culture Seminar Program (ACSP) at Villanova University seeks scholars in the Humanities for the Lawrence C. Gallen teaching fellowship in the Humanities, a one year non-tenure track teaching appointment renewable for a total of six years. The Gallen fellows are responsible for teaching three sections of the Augustine and Culture Seminar per semester. The ACS seminar is a writing-intensive interdisciplinary program required of all first year students.
In addition, the faculty member will help develop and oversee various scholarly activities sponsored by the program, including conferences, faculty workshops and faculty workshops. Finally the faculty member will also contribute to Villanova’s residential learning communities program.

Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in a Humanities discipline, a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching in the Humanities, and an interest in teaching the thought and influence of Augustine.
Preferred Qualifications:
In addition candidates who have demonstrated effective and innovative teaching in ACS or a comparable interdisciplinary humanities course will receive preference.
