Modern Western Europe. The History Department at Colgate University seeks a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor in the history of Western Europe after 1789, to begin in fall semester 2015. The completion of the Ph.D. is expected prior to the date of hire. The specialization is open, but the Department would be especially pleased to receive applications from persons with teaching competence in environmental history or the history of gender. The successful candidate will teach five (5) courses, including introductory and upper-division courses in the field consistent with his or her interests and departmental needs. He or she will also participate in the university's Core Curriculum. Salary and benefits highly competitive.
