Lecturer in Political Science
The Political Science program at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, is seeking a specialist in comparative politics for a two-year position as lecturer to begin in August 2015. This position has the potential to be converted to tenure-track.
Any area of specialization within comparative politics is welcome other than the Middle East or East Asia. A secondary specialization in international relations or public policy is also welcome.
Responsibilities will include the offering of introductory comparative politics courses, along with intermediate and upper-level courses in the candidate’s areas of expertise. Penn State Behrend offers a political science major and minor as well as interdisciplinary programs related to international studies and criminal justice. Release time will be given to participate in program service and development and supervision of student learning experiences outside the classroom.
A successful candidate must be an excellent teacher with an active research agenda and with experience in working with undergraduate students or student groups outside of a classroom setting. Candidates must receive a PhD in political science or a related area by August 15, 2015.
