The School of Business and Liberal Arts at SUNY Canton invites applications for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in History to begin in August 2015. The primary field of specialization is European History and preference will be given to applicants with secondary fields in East Asian, Middle Eastern or African history.
Responsibilities: Teaching responsibilities will include introductory courses in modern Europe, western civilization and world history, as well as upper-level courses in the candidate’s field of specialty.
The successful applicant will be prepared for a 4 class per semester (12 credit hours) teaching load, to develop online courses, to participate in advising and periodic program assessment, as well as engage in scholarly/research activities and participate in faculty governance.
This position is contingent on an anticipated retirement.
Qualifications: PhD at the time of appointment, ABD candidates with current matriculation will be considered.
