The Jewish Studies Program at San Diego State University invites applications to fill a Visiting Israeli Professor position for two semesters during the 2015-16 Academic Year.
Rank is open. Applicants from a variety of disciplines are invited to apply, but the successful candidate must hold a Ph.D. in a field of specialization such as History, Political Science, International Studies, Public Affairs, or Communications Studies. Fluency and undergraduate teaching experience in English are essential for consideration.
The appointee will be expected to teach one to two courses in each of two semesters on topics relating to modern Israel and the Arab/Israeli conflict, and should also be prepared to give public lectures in the San Diego area, especially in San Diego's North County as well as to the California State University community throughout Southern California.
The Visiting Israeli Professor receives the same benefits package, medical, dental, and vision insurance and clerical assistance that all San Diego State faculty receive.
