Assistant Professor of History

Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST) is Kuwait's first private, American-model university. GUST currently offers programs in Arts and Sciences and Business including a MBA.

The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences in the College of Arts & Sciences at Gulf University for Science & Technology (GUST) seeks to appoint a dynamic, creative and experienced individual as Assistant Professor of History. The ideal candidate will have a research interest in non-Western history and demonstrate interest in teaching a variety of introductory courses, in particular the world history survey. Preference will be given to candidates with a specialty in the history of East Asia, South Asia, Latin America and the Middle East.

Successful candidates must be able to articulate a research agenda, have an emerging record of publications, and demonstrate commitments to instructional excellence and departmental service. Candidates are expected to have completed all the requirements for their doctorate at the time of appointment. Applications will be considered on a continuous basis until the position is filled. Although preference will be given to candidates who qualify for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, those who qualify for appointment at higher ranks are also encouraged to apply.
