The Digital Humanities Initiative at Creighton University invites applications for a tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in Digital Humanities to begin August 2015. We are seeking a scholar with a stellar academic background who will be able to contribute to both new and ongoing digital humanities initiatives across the university. Candidates should have a portfolio that demonstrates their ability to apply digital tools and methodologies to humanities research. Preferred areas of digital expertise include, but are not limited to, geographic information systems, textual analysis, data visualization, and network analysis.
This position will be hired as part of Creighton’s Digital Humanities Initiative and will be housed within the Department of History. Area of specialization within the humanities is open; all scholars with an active research agenda in digital humanities will be considered, regardless of their disciplinary field. We especially encourage applications from scholars with a cross-disciplinary focus, such as environmental and sustainability studies, American studies, and public history and museum studies, that will complement existing college priorities and strengths. Teaching load of nine hours per semester includes courses for the core curriculum as well as upper-division courses in Digital Humanities and one’s own discipline. Ph.D. in hand and evidence of excellent teaching and scholarly potential required.
