Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of U.S. Environmental history beginning August 2015.
ABDs will be considered, but must have PhD by time of appointment.
The successful candidate will teach three courses per semester, including his or her preferred half of the U.S. History survey, advanced undergraduate courses in Environmental history and other fields of expertise, and graduate courses in the area of specialization. Candidates must hold a PhD in U.S. History and are expected to be quality teachers, scholars, and citizens of the academy as demonstrated through a variety of student learning outcomes, refereed publications, external grants, and service on local and professional committees. In particular, we are seeking a dynamic candidate who will foster community engaged learning, strengthen interdisciplinary ties within the College of Liberal Arts, and build relationships in the community and with other environmentally-focused programs, such as the Harte Research Institute for Gulf of Mexico Studies.
May require night, weekend, and online course delivery.
