The History Department at Sonoma State University invites applications for a tenure-track appointment as assistant professor of history with a specialization in Ancient Mediterranean/Medieval Europe. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to teaching on both the undergraduate and graduate (MA) levels and evidence of productivity in scholarly research and publication. Teaching responsibilities include a lower-division World History to 1500 survey and two upper-division courses in area of specialization each semester. PhD must be in hand by the time of appointment. Sonoma State University is a member of the Coalition of Public Liberal Arts College (COPLAC) and applicants should be dedicated to teaching in a liberal arts environment.
