Full-time, nine-month (9), tenure-track position beginning August 2015.
Qualifications: Applicants must possess an earned doctorate in history by appointment date. ABDs with a documented plan of completion by appointment date will be considered. Applicants must be able to teach survey courses in World History or U.S. History. Applicants must show demonstrated or potential for success in teaching, research (resulting in peer-reviewed publications), and professional service. Applicants should have a secondary field concentration in gender or African diaspora or environmental history. We welcome applicants who approach the field (The United States in the World) from transnational, interdisciplinary or comparative perspectives.
Responsibilities: Our successful candidate will be able to approach United States History from a world/global perspective. Candidates must be able to teach survey courses in World History or U.S. History and will contribute to our undergraduate and master’s degree programs. Candidates must show demonstrated or potential for success in teaching, research, and professional service. Responsibilities include a twelve-hour teaching load (four courses) per semester, research, and service.
