Finance Specialist - BMCC Foundation – Job ID#11606
Coordinates financial matters for a program or department under management direction. Maintains financial accounts for income and spending; administers the allocation of funds. Analyzes spending, income trends and usage to recommend improvements. Manages the collection of revenue and accounts receivable. Tracks and maintains financial data to provide fiscal reports to management; produces forecasting projections. Monitors the financial condition of operating centers to ensure efficient use of resources. Performs ad hoc reporting and analysis as necessary. May supervise subordinate staff. Performs related duties as assigned.

The Finance Specialist reports to the Finance Controller and works closely with the Development Office. The Specialist will: Record all donations and pledge revenue and scholarship disbursements. Reconcile the Investment account of BMCC Foundation. Reconcile and develop interface procedures to synchronize Blackbaud's Raisers Edge software in the Development Office with the Financial Edge software in the Accounting Office. Ensure that proper documentation, procedures, and policies are maintained for data integrity. Review and update departmental procedures and policies annually. Prepare monthly financial statements, administrative, departmental and operational reports. Perform year end, quarterly, monthly, and ad-hoc analyses. Respond to request to work with internal (CUNY/NYC) and external auditors.
Bachelor's Degree and four years' related experience required.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or other related field. Experience with fundraising software such as Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge and Accounting software, such as Blackbaud's Financial Edge. Knowledge of gift pledge accounting and endowments. Experience in a higher education setting preferred. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to explain financial concepts and processes clearly. Excellent attention to detail with ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple complex tasks and/or projects simultaneously, and maintain composure under pressure.
Salary: $42,873 - $55,782
