The Department of History at Sam Houston State University invites applications for a tenure-track position in public history. We are particularly interested in candidates who are enthusiastic about working with students, local institutions, and regional museums. Preferred candidates will also have designed professional exhibits, overseen internship programs, secured grant funding, and/or developed digital history projects. The chronological and geographical fields of specialty are open. Teaching responsibilities will include survey courses in American or world history, as well as undergraduate and graduate courses in public history. The successful candidate is to have a Ph.D. in History or Public History in hand before the appointment begins in August 2015.
