The History Department of the University of West Georgia invites applications for a full-time tenure-track assistant professor in U.S. women's history, starting August 1, 2015. Specialties in either the 19th or 20th centuries are encouraged, but the candidate will be expected to teach survey courses in U.S. women's history both to and from 1865. Responsibilities also include teaching an American history survey as well as advanced undergraduate and graduate seminars. Ph.D. is required and teaching experience preferred. Please send letter of application, c.v., a writing sample, sample syllabi, teaching philosophy, and three letters of recommendation. Review of applications will begin on November 1, 2014, and will continue until the position is filled. All applications must be postmarked by November 15, 2014. Located about 50 miles from Atlanta, UWG is a comprehensive university with about 12, 000 students and a growing M.A. program in History.
