Latin American History. Tenure-track assistant professorship at the University of Dallas, a Catholic liberal arts institution featuring an extensive core curriculum. Beginning August 2015. Specialization in the history of modern and contemporary Latin America (excluding Mexico) with an emphasis on the social and economic history of South America. The teaching load is 3 undergraduate-level courses per semester. In addition to teaching in the area of specialization, will have responsibility for teaching sections of the university’s American Civilization sequence. An ability to teach the second semester of the university’s Western Civilization survey is also highly desirable. Ph.D. required. Better candidates will have a substantial record of teaching in the relevant subject areas and will have language competence in both Spanish and Portuguese. Salary competitive.
