Appalachian History
The history department at the University of Kentucky invites applications for a tenure-stream assistant or associate professor in the history of Appalachia, beginning in fall 2015. Ph.D. required by August 2015. The successful candidate will also contribute to course offerings in US Southern History. We are seeking candidates with a strong commitment to engaged research and teaching in service of the region and to participation in UK’s interdisciplinary Appalachian Studies Program. This candidate is expected to engage students at all levels: introductory surveys, upper division undergraduate courses, and graduate seminars. Applicants should send a letter of application, a cv, a teaching statement, an article- or chapter-length writing sample, and three letters of reference to Interfolio.
