Assistant Professor of Modern German History
The history department at Loyola University Maryland invites applicants for a tenure-track assistant professorship in the history of modern Germany with a specialty in the twentieth century. Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to undergraduate teaching, scholarship, and service. The successful applicant will teach the 100-level introductory survey of modern Europe and a rotating sequence of upper-division courses in his or her specialty, but including one on Nazi Germany and the Holocaust. The standard teaching load is three courses per semester with expectations for scholarship and service to the department and university. Eventual participation in Loyola’s living/learning first year program is expected. Appointment will begin August 24, 2015. Ph.D. is expected by that date.
