The Women and Gender Studies Program at the University of California, Davis seeks applications for a full-time, tenure track, assistant professorship to begin 1 July 2015 with a teaching and research focus on intersectional and/or transnational gender and sexuality studies. We are particularly interested in candidates who combine research on sexualities with feminist studies of science, health, economics, labor, and/or critical policy studies with sensitivity to social justice concerns. Candidates are required to have a PhD or equivalent by 21 September 2015. We seek candidates who can participate fully in the research, teaching, and service of the Women and Gender Studies program and in the undergraduate Sexuality Studies minor, who can help us deliver our undergraduate and graduate curriculum, and who are interested in sustaining cross disciplinary, cross departmental connections to other units on the campus. Applicants must demonstrate exceptional promise as scholars and teachers, and a strong commitment to departmental and university service. We offer an undergraduate major and minor program and a graduate level Designated Emphasis in Feminist Theory and Research. Faculty members may choose to participate in a wide range of graduate groups. The Women and Gender Studies Program maintains and encourages close ties to other interdisciplinary departments and programs, notably the African and African American, American, Asian American, Chicana/o, Cultural, Middle East/South Asia, Native American, and Performance studies programs on campus. UC Davis is located west of Sacramento and north of the San Francisco Bay Area.
