African or African Diaspora History. Assistant Professor. The Mississippi State University Department of History invites applications for a tenure-track appointment in African or African Diaspora history, beginning August 2015. Successful applicants must be able to participate in the department’s specialties of International Security/Internal Safety or Agricultural, Rural and Environmental History. Teaching responsibilities are two courses per semester. Offerings include undergraduate and graduate courses in the area of expertise. Demonstrated ability to contribute to the department’s vibrant intellectual life is especially favored.
A Ph.D. by time of appointment is required. Expertise in African environmental, African diaspora, or Imperialism/nationalism/anti-colonialism are preferred. Evidence of successful teaching and publications are also preferred.
