The History Department at Marquette University invites applications for an entry-level, tenure-track assistant professor in Ancient History with emphasis on the Mediterranean world. The successful candidate will be expected to teach the first half of the western civilization survey, a survey of Ancient Greece and Rome, and advanced undergraduate courses in his or her specialty; maintain an active research agenda; and perform department service after the first year. An interest in digital humanities is a plus. PhD required by time of appointment. The regular teaching load in the department is five courses per academic year. Preference given for candidates with teaching experience. Video interviews will be held in late November or early December in lieu of AHA interviews.
