Macalester College’s Political Science Department invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor rank in Comparative Politics (other than Latin America). Applicants should either have PhD in hand or be ABD and close to finishing the PhD; teaching experience desirable. The ideal candidate will be a broadly trained Comparativist (in any field other than Latin America). The candidate should possess strong theoretical and methodological training. The ideal candidate would be able to offer courses on a specific geographical region, and an introductory course, preferably Foundations of Comparative Politics. The candidate will be expected to contribute to both the Political Science Department and to one of Macalester’s area studies programs. We invite applications from political scientists who would welcome the opportunity to build links to colleagues and curricula in other programs, both within and beyond the social sciences, including Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies; Environmental Studies; Asian Studies; African Studies; Urban Studies; and Legal Studies.
