The Department of History at Texas State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professorship in the history of Great Britain since 1783. Ph.D. in history is required by time of appointment, and salary is commensurate with experience. The successful candidate will 1) teach advanced undergraduate and graduate courses and advise M.A. theses in British history as well as develop more specialized courses on imperial and postcolonial history; 2) teach survey courses in World Civilization; and 3) teach undergraduate survey courses on nineteenth and twentieth-century Europe. In addition to excellence in teaching and an active research agenda complementing the existing strengths of the department, participation in departmental programs, service, and governance are expected.
