The School of Historical, Philosophical, and Religious Studies (SHPRS) at Arizona State University seeks a full-time, non-tenure track Lecturer to teach undergraduate and graduate on-ground and online courses in American and World History. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible appointment. This is a fixed-term, fiscal year (twelve month) appointment with no tenure implications. Subsequent annual renewal is possible contingent upon satisfactory performance, availability of resources, and the needs of the university. Anticipated start date is July 1, 2014.
The online B.A. degree mirrors the on-ground history B.A. offered by the SHPRS; courses are given in a 7.5 week sessions. The online Master’s will mirror the on-ground program offered by the SHPRS and will provide students the opportunity to develop knowledge of a specific historical field, study comparative history, and learn research techniques. Courses will be offered in an intensive 7.5 week online format. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in American and world history in on-ground and online settings.
- Doctoral degree in History
- Evidence of successful online history instructional experience at the university level
- Evidence of successful on-ground history instructional experience at the university level
- Capability to provide academic and career advisement to graduate students and professionals
- Experience with compressed semester (for example, 7.5 week) courses
- Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in American and world history in on-ground and online setting
- Familiarity with online education at Arizona State University
- Evidence of research
