The University of Toledo Department of History invites applicants for a full-time faculty position at the rank of assistant or associate professor in Early United States History (up to 1824). The University of Toledo is a comprehensive public research university in Northwest Ohio. Candidates will be expected to teach survey and upper-division courses in American history. Teaching duties will also include graduate courses and graduate advising at the master’s and doctoral level. All applicants will be expected to have a full research agenda. At the associate level a significant record of scholarly publications is required.
Our department is particularly interested in candidates whose research of the following areas: women’s history, gender and the history of sexuality, the Atlantic world, and the history of medicine. Qualified applicants will be expected to have the Ph.D. completed by August 18, 2014. Review of applications will begin on June 15th and continue until the position is filled. The start date for this position is August 18, 2014 and may be deferrable to January 2015.
