To help deliver the services needed we have an immediate opening for a Research Associate who will provide professional level
research support requiring the application of standard research practices and techniques. Primarily the Research Associate will
perform research duties, including providing support to various levels of leadership in a multidisciplinary research team;
recruiting, screening, and enrolling research participants and maintaining meticulous records related to these tasks; keeping upto-
date in training on the proper treatment of research participants (keeping CITI training current); observing and recording
fidelity to the intervention; interpreting information; participating in training sessions and regular research staff meetings in the
lab; maintaining databases; creating reports; data entry; interacting with staff, vendors, and research partners throughout the US;
communicating any adverse events to the Principal Investigator; conducting literature searches and summarizing findings;
supporting of IRB submissions; and recording results in a timely and accurate manner. In addition, the Research Associate may
handle telephone contacts and requests from healthcare organizations and health professionals, assist with the supervision of
student workers, provide instruction on the use of databases and research techniques, and provide assistance in the performance
of assigned laboratory exercises. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in social sciences (e.g. sociology, anthropology, public health, communication, etc.) and at least two years of
experience directly related to human subjects recruitment, data collection, and public health. An equivalent combination of
education and experience may be considered.
Required Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to travel to offsite locations that may not be accessible by public transportation.
• Ability to conduct general fact finding searches, including Internet and scholarly literature searches.
• Demonstrated proficiency with computers and databases, including MS Office Suite applications.
• Demonstrated expertise with qualitative data coding and analysis.
• Must have strong written and oral communication skills.
• Must have strong organizational skills.
• Must be attentive to details.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks and planning.
• Must be able to adhere to deadlines.
Preferred: Experience with SPSS and other software for statistical analysis. Knowledge and experience with organ donation
and transplantation. Knowledge and experience with cancer prevention and control.
