The Associate Administrator manages one or more College administrative functions. He/she develops, implements, and assesses programs and services to produce high-quality results and meet strategic goals. He/she also coordinates activities among different units, and with areas outside the College, and may oversee staff, budget, operations, and facilities.
CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION
Reporting directly to the Vice President for Student Affairs, the Executive Director will be responsible for managing the $8.5 million operating budget of the division of Student Affairs, in addition to, but not limited to, the following:
-Responsible for the overall management, leadership, operation, budgets, and staffing of the following offices at the college: Student Financial Services, Scholarships, College Opportunity to Prepare for Employment (COPE), and Single Stop.
-Serve as co-chair of the college's Enrollment Management Committee and as the administrative member of the Faculty Senate's Awards and Scholarships Committee.
-Oversee the management of The Carroll and Milton Petrie Foundation Student Emergency Grant Fund to assist students who are experiencing short-term financial emergencies.
-Serve as the college's Scholarship Director by managing the awarding, disbursement, and budgets of QCC restricted scholarship programs, in addition to promoting all CUNY and outside scholarship opportunities for students, and collaborating with the areas of Institutional Advancement and Finance at the college.
-Serve as the functional lead for the student information system, PeopleSoft, for the division of Student Affairs working collaboratively with CUNY central offices to oversee, evaluate, and make recommendations for enhanced system functionality.
-Work collaboratively with the college's Assistant Dean of Enrollment Management to create and execute a comprehensive student financial services communication plan for all students enrolled at the college to ensure a thorough understanding of how students will finance their education with grants, scholarships, and self-help options.
This position is in CUNY's Executive Compensation Plan. All executive positions require a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and eight years' related experience. Additional qualifications are defined below by the College.
- Master's degree required; MBA preferred
- A minimum of eight years of senior level administrative, managerial, and supervisory experience at a college or university, including a minimum of eight years of managerial experience in the Office of Student Financial Services required
- Eight years of relevant PeopleSoft Financial Aid experience preferred
- Experience developing, implementing, and troubleshooting the Financial Aid module of PeopleSoft highly preferred
- Experience managing operating budgets and scholarship programs preferred
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, planning, analytical, reporting, and communication skills preferred
