The Department of History at Bogazici University, Istanbul, invites applications for a full-time assistant/associate professor of early modern European history. Successful candidates, once hired, are expected to teach a minimum of two courses per semester as well as to balance an active research program with service to the department. Ability to teach a course in medieval European history is a plus. Please note that this position is not open for Turkish citizens, and is based on a one-year renewable contract. The salary is commensurate with qualifications, paid in Turkish liras.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. and some teaching experience by the time of application. Applications must include a C.V., a cover letter discussing research and teaching interests and accomplishments, two letters of recommendation, an article/chapter-length writing sample and the syllabi of at least one general survey course and one specialized upper-level undergraduate or graduate course on early modern European history.
