Carroll College in Helena, Montana invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor of European History with a secondary field in Sub-Saharan Africa to begin in August 2014. The 4/3 teaching load includes such courses as the second semester of the History of Western Civilization survey class, as well as upper level courses in Modern Europe, and the History of Modern Africa course, excluding North Africa. Minimum qualifications are an earned doctorate in history by to the start of the fall 2014 semester, promise of excellence in undergraduate teaching, evidence of active scholarship in the applicant’s field/s of expertise, willingness to meet department and college service obligations, and the ability to work collegially.
Applicants must submit a letter of application, current curriculum vitae, statement of teaching and research philosophies, graduate transcripts (unofficial), three letters of reference, and a writing sample not to exceed 1500 words electronically to employment@carroll.edu by March 1, 2014 for priority consideration, EOE.
