The Department of History at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga seeks a tenure-track assistant professor in the history of the Islamic World to start in August 2014. Regional subspecialty and time period is open. Applicants should be capable of teaching world civilizations courses as well as upper-division courses in their area of specialization. The successful candidate will hold a Ph.D. in History. Applications from advanced ABD candidates will be considered. Previous college-level teaching experience is strongly preferred, but is not required.
