Latin American History – Assistant/Associate Professor — The Department of History and Geography at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette seeks applications for a tenure-track assistant or associate professorship in Latin American history beginning Fall 2014. Geographical specialization and periodization is open. Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate surveys (in both colonial and modern Latin American history), specialized upper-division, and M.A. level courses. The candidate should have a strong commitment to teaching and scholarly publication. Ph.D. required, teaching experience and publications desirable. UL Lafayette is located in Acadiana, the region of Louisiana known for its Cajun and Creole heritage, and has a growing Latino population and an enrollment approaching 17,000.
