The School of History, Research School of Social Sciences, at the Australian National University seeks to appoint a Lecturer (Level B) in Twentieth-Century European History.
The Level B historian (Research and Teaching) we appoint will join the School of History’s research concentration in European History. We wish to recruit an historian with an active research agenda in twentieth century Continental European history who will augment our national and international research profile and contribute to one or more of the School’s thematic areas of strength (Biography; cultural, social, political and intellectual history; Environmental History; Gender History; Indigenous History).
The historian appointed will be expected to publish in top-ranking journals and with international publishers, and to supervise and recruit Higher Degree Research (HDR) students. He or she will contribute to the School’s teaching programs in European History at the Undergraduate, Honours, and Post Graduate Coursework (PGC) levels. Ability to contribute to the convening and teaching of HIST1209, From Terror to Terrorism, and to the teaching of digital humanities in the BA degree, would be desirable attributes. We expect the appointee to be active in professional service within ANU and in the international discipline of History, as well as undertake outreach to the broader community.
