Latin America. Tenure track Assistant Professor of Latin American History in the Department of History, Southern Illinois University Carbondale, 9 month continuing appointment. Ph.D. in History with focus in Latin American History; area of specialization within Latin American history is open. ABD applicants will be considered if all degree requirements will be met by August 15, 2014. If all requirements for the Ph.D. are not completed by August 15, 2014, a 9-month term appointment may be offered at the rank of Instructor at a reduced rate of pay. Potential for excellent teaching and scholarship required. Teaching experience and publications preferred. Teaching assignment includes a Latin American survey, general education courses in world civilizations, and advanced undergraduate and graduate courses in area of specialization.
