Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Latin American history and/or the history of the Spanish Atlantic world.
ABD’s will be considered, but must have PhD by time of appointment.
Preference will be given to candidates with an interest in comparative slavery, race, the movement of peoples, or the place of Latin American societies in the broader Atlantic World.
The successful candidate will teach an upper division survey in Latin American history and one or two sections of the candidate’s preferred half of the U.S. history survey each semester, as well as periodic undergraduate and/or graduate courses in the area of specialization. Candidates are expected to be quality teachers, scholars, and citizens of the academy as demonstrated through a variety of student learning outcomes, refereed publications, external grants, and service on local and professional committees. May involve night, weekend, and electronic course delivery.
