Arkansas State University (ASU) is recruiting applicants for the position of Associate or Full Professor (tenure-track) to begin Fall, 2014 in Historic Preservation and Heritage Studies at Arkansas State University. Position will be twelve months with teaching limited to the Heritage Studies Ph.D. Program coordinated with the public history track of the master's degree in history. Responsibilities assigned by the Director of Arkansas Heritage Sites such as grant writing, fundraising, and program planning as well as overseeing graduate assistantships and doctoral research, will be an extensive part of this professional appointment. Ph. D. in appropriate academic field required. Candidates should have experience initiating and leading historic preservation projects. Candidates who also have experience working with intangible cultural heritage in programs that support cultural conservation are especially encouraged to apply. A record of grant writing, academic publication, college-level teaching, community outreach, and public program management is expected.
