U.S. Constitutional and Legal History. The Jamie and Phyllis Pasker Chair in History. By virtue of the generosity of Robert Pasker and Laurie Pitman, the Department of History at San Francisco State University invites applications from accomplished scholars and teachers of U.S. constitutional and legal history. We anticipate hiring at the full professor rank, but will consider candidates at the associate professor level. Appointment with tenure if appropriate. Ph.D. and successful record of publication required. The holder of the endowed chair will teach two courses per semester, including undergraduate and graduate seminars in his or her specialization. He or she will also pursue an active research agenda in the field of U.S. constitutional and legal history and in connection with department and university goals of diversity, freedom, and social justice. Appointment begins Fall 2014. Application deadline January 10, 2014 or until position is filled.
