Early American Business or Economic History
The Department of History of the University at Albany, State University of New York invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level for a scholar whose research is focused on the History of Business or Economic History in the early American period (prior to the U.S. Civil War). Research and teaching interests might include business, entrepreneurship, technology, trade, economic policy, labor, consumer society, or any related economic activities. Ability to contribute to the programs in Public History or History and Media is desirable.
Qualifications: Applicants must show promise of a distinguished career as a scholar and teacher. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in hand by September 1, 2014 from a college or university accredited by a U.S. Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization; additionally applicants must address in their applications their ability to work with a culturally diverse population.
