The History Department at the University of California, Irvine, seeks to hire two historians of Europe whose major research focus situates the region in a global context. The positions, open rank with a preference for hiring at the associate or full professor level, include: 1) Russia/Soviet Union and/or Eastern Europe and the World (1800-present); 2) Western Europe (including the United Kingdom and Germany) and the World (1500-present). Candidates should provide evidence of their ability to contribute to the department’s program in World History (at both the graduate and undergraduate levels) and the School of Humanities’ Department of European Languages and Studies. The appointment will be 100% in History.
Candidates should submit a letter of application that describes research and teaching interests; a current CV; an article or a book chapter not to exceed 50 pages; and 3 letters of recommendation.
