Creative Journalism Fellowship
|Location:||New York, United States|
This is an opportunity to spend a year working full-time on identifying and reporting on public policy news stories of substance. Our focus is on making visible what is usually invisible in terms of policy options, and thus the fellow selected must have the ability to develop a hypothesis outside the frame of what policy makers and policy advocates may be peddling. He or she must also have the skill and desire to ask tough follow-up questions. Given where we are placing this posting, you can also tell that we think that a strong sense of historical context is essential.
We will pay you $40,000 to $60,000, depending on experience and qualifications. It offers four weeks of paid vacation. 100 percent employer-paid health insurance premiums.
This opportunity is open only to those who will be able to start work in January, 2014. This position does not require relocation to New York City, and can be performed from anywhere in the United States.
About Remapping Debate:
Remapping Debate is a small, vibrant, not-for-profit online news journal with stable funding and a mission to counter a profoundly destructive assumption that undergirds most reporting: that existing U.S. domestic public policies somehow reflect nothing more than submission to inevitable facts of life that always have been and always will be.
