The University of Oklahoma announces a tenure-track position as Assistant Professor of Religious Studies with broad general training in religious studies along with a 2/2 teaching load beginning August 16, 2014. The successful candidate will have broad training in religious studies, the ability to teach Hinduism and South Asian religions, and show promise of both scholarly and pedagogical excellence. The candidate will teach a blend of introductory and advanced courses. Ability to teach world religions, theory and methods is desirable. A completed doctorate or strong evidence of timely completion by the date of appointment is required. The position will be housed in a rapidly expanding interdisciplinary Religious Studies program, which emphasizes a balance between diverse religious traditions and different approaches to the study of religion.
