The Liberal Studies Department at Western Washington University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship in South Asian Studies, beginning September 16, 2014, to teach lower- and upper-division undergraduate courses. Ph.D. with training in social or cultural history of South Asia is required, along with a promise of future scholarship and a commitment to excellence in teaching.
Liberal Studies is an interdisciplinary humanities department with a focus on cultural history and academic study of religion. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in interdisciplinary teaching; a background in the study of religion; and/or a background in gender studies.
A letter of application, C.V., and graduate transcript are required, along with three letters of reference sent by the referee directly to the department.
